Newbie blogger

The site is telling me that I published 7 minutes ago.  What have I been doing with those minutes?  A coffee-break, that’s what.  Having spent the morning publishing my weight loss plan on Hubpages.com Hubpages.com/hub/Practical-womens-weight-loss-plan I was whacked, especially as my 14 year old was chipping in and helping (sometimes there is only so much help you can take).  So, the coffee (decaff naturally) was really needed.

Oh, also in those 7 minutes, I emptied the washing machine and refilled it.  The Georgina_writes househould is getting ready for the annual holiday next week.  Seven days of sand, rain and gritty pasties in Cornwall.  Hopefully we won’t have the rainy bit.  I’m packing optimistic clothes.

This will be our first holiday in about five years, if you don’t count the 5 days we spent camping in Cornwall last year, which was more about endurance than holiday.

On the spur of the moment we bought an unfeasibly small tent with all the kit, and spent four nights in a field by the dunes.  The wind blew and the rain hammered down every single night.  The days began damp and cold, so after a couple of pain-killers to get over the night spent hunched up on the floor we donned every item from our rucksacks and set off for a walk with the dogs.  After a couple of hours the sun came out, so on the walk back we sweltered.  Bright red in the face and carrying everything we’d had on first thing, people took us for a couple of bag ladies!

We would have gone camping again this year, but we need a bigger tent.  Before buying a bigger tent, we need a bigger car to put it in.  In the end it was just cheaper to hire a cottage for a week.
